An exciting opportunity has emerged for a full-time Graphic Designer to join the team of a leading publisher of early years educational material; our client is an award-winning publisher producing engaging, fun and effective literacy programmes for children around the world. They have a beautiful, recently renovated office in Buckhurst Hill, Essex, where the role will be based (there is the option to work 1-2 days from home once established in the role). The office is easily commutable from London or elsewhere. The company offers a competitive salary and welcomes applications from those looking for a flexible work pattern.

Working as part of a small, friendly and supportive team, and through liaising with authors, illustrators, editors, production staff and a senior designer, the Graphic Designer will play a pivotal role in the design and development of a variety of educational materials in print and digital formats. In this role, they will use their excellent graphic design skills to create page layouts for book products and packaging, following the company style guidelines.

The ideal Graphic Designer will have proven graphic design experience and a creative flair, along with a familiarity of design software and technologies; InDesign and Photoshop are a must, and Illustrator would also be useful. They will have an existing portfolio of illustrations or other graphics, and a keen eye for aesthetics and detail. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work methodically and meet deadlines are crucial, as is possessing a genuine interest in working on educational materials for children.
