Technical Design Technician
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £30000 – £40000/annum
We are currently working with an innovative, family-run SME who are actively seeking a Technical Design Technician to join their existing team based in Cranleigh. Your role as a Technical Design Technician is to design and modify existing products, electrical schematics and components as required in order to support the R&D program and technical department so that our client's products are developed and kept up to date with legislation in accordance with business needs.
Key activities and responsibilities
* Design new products and create prototypes as required in workshop
* Design electrical schematics from project design brief
* Create drawings of existing products using the automatic drawing tool
* Create CAD drawings using the drawing software (using AutoCAD 2D and inventor 3D and Revvit ( for BIM)
* Carry out revisions to drawings and schematics as requested by Sales
* Create drawings of new products as requested by the Technical Director
* Create production drawings as requested by Operations
* Create and maintain BIM drawings as requested by Marketing
* Maintain drawing numbers and references to ensure accurate revision control and archiving
* Ensure all documents are filed in the correct locations / folders and maintain as necessary so that others may access them
* Assist the Technical team in technical issues relating to any product
* Trouble shooting over the phone
The ideal candidate will have the following skills, attributes and qualifications…
* Hands on / practical approach / engineering background
* Proficient in using CAD software including BIM
* Familiar with or experience of engineering / construction environments / industry
* Familiar with MS Office
* Excellent questioning and listening skills to ascertain exact requirements and resolve queries
* Strong attention to detail
* Self starter, works with minimum supervision
* Self motivated and able to manage own workload
* Tenacious
* Well organised
Hours: Monday- Friday 7:30-4:30 (flexible to suit)
