Mac Operator
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £25000 – £30000/annum
Mac Operator – Packaging
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Salary: DOE
Company: Global leading packaging and graphics agency.
Role:
* Create and amend artwork to customer supplied briefs/technical specifications and files
* Produce accurate proofs for customer approval
* Repro customer approved artwork
* Produce print ready artwork
* Checking all supplied repro is press ready and fit for purpose
* Perform content and quality checks to production files/proofs prior to sending files for printing plate production
* Provide technical support to customers either by telephone or site visit if required
* Provide support to QA Team for customer visits and audits
* Using Automation Engine/WebCenter workflows for stepping and outputting, films, PDFs, Varnish Coating files and Litho Printing plates
* Communicating with customers and repro houses
* Working with other regional pre-press departments
Requirements:
* Experience creating print ready artwork
* Previous experience working within packaging
* Adobe Creative Suite skills specifically Illustrator
* ESKO experience – ArtPro & Automation – desirable
* Knowledge of artwork, pre-press, and repro procedures
* Experience of the print industry and processes i.e., flexo
* Proven experience of artwork creation and manipulation to a high standard
* Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
