Typesetter
Job Type : Temporary, Full Time
Salary : £12.00/hour
Purpose of the role:
To produce assessment material within defined templates and follow British Standard Mark up as requested.
To ensure that a high level of Quality Assurance of both confidential and non-confidential materials is achieved and proofs are supplied to zero tolerance levels at all times. The work is to produce examination material where zero defect is expected
To maintain a good knowledge of relevant house style guidelines for the business
To ensure the maintenance of a high standard of service delivery ensuring the excellent reputation of our client's brand is maintained at all times
To work with the Studio Manager to identify and implement immediate and effective actions to address any area or process where KPI measurement has fallen below pre-requisite levels
To maintain all processes and procedures employed within the in-house confidential print facility in accordance with the requirements of all ISO and BS accreditations achieved, and within the requirements of all legislative requirements Experience/Skills Required:
Demonstrable knowledge of typesetting skills along with the ability to copy type
Excellent knowledge of English Grammar
Adobe Creative Suite skills on Mac equipment
Comprehensive practical knowledge of marks for copy prep & proof correction in accordance with BS 5261C:2005
Excellent inter-personnel experience
High level of organisational skills within an environment of conflicting priorities
A high quality assurance focused approach exhibiting a reliable and responsible attitude
Good understanding of typesetting technologies, preferably InDesign
