An innovative design company based Richmond, are seeking a Project Manager within design with experience in business administration, planning and execution of projects and core analyses.

Working as part of a global design team (reporting to the Chief Design Officer) the successful candidate will be analytical and strategically minded, supporting the design team to increase efficiencies, and lead special projects.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Partner with the CDO to provide business administration and design project support

• Plan and execute Global Design special projects

• Prepare content and provide general support for global design project meetings as well as following up with relevant stakeholders

• Support CDO with selected corporate initiatives

• Create and deliver materials for key strategic project meetings

• Conduct relevant core analyses

• Coordinate global initiatives across all design studios

• Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports, presentations, and meetings for CDO

• Organize top-level management presentations for the board level

• Craft and deliver effective communication with other disciplines and functions, supporting cross functional collaboration and interaction

The ideal person would have:

• BSc, BA, MA, BEng in Industrial Design, Product Design, Design Management or equivalent industry experience

• 3 years’ minimum work experience within the design sector, preferably as part of a global and/or matrixed organization

• Experience coordinating projects, initiatives, or processes, inclusive of presenting complex information in an easy-to-understand way

• Strong detail-orientation

• Exposure to business operations, consulting tools and frameworks

• Knowledge of design thinking methodologies

• High level MS offices skills (especially PowerPoint)

• Results-orientated with a grasp of what is required to execute on objectives

• An ability to balance creative and intuitive thought processes with analytical and logical decision making

• Excellent verbal and written communicator and proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships

• Expert level of experience in writing, editing and reporting, and in communicating ideas effectively and engagingly

• Travel required within US, Asia, and Europe and availability to work across global time zones
