Location: King’s Lynn, Norfolk

Monday – Friday 8:30am-5pm

Brief Description:

As part of a small, expert Product Development team, you will work closely with the Senior Product Manager, supporting at every stage of the product development process. You will work to help identify potential products and development updates; use external data to identify trends; conduct market research; generate product requirements; determine specifications, production timetables, pricing, and time-integrated plans for product introduction, and ultimately developing marketing strategies.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Abilities:

* Enthusiastic well-rounded Marketer and/or Engineer, able to communicate effectively at all levels

* Lateral thinking with a natural ability to get the most from internal teams

* Dynamic and progressive project management skills essential

* Adaptable self-starter with proven record of managing multiple tasks at one time and working within tight deadlines.

* Excellent command of English with accompanying Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Powerpoint etc) skills

* Data analysis – ability to manipulate & analyse large amounts of data, resulting in clear presentable materials for wider non-specialist consumption

* Creative and innovative thinker with a keen eye for detail

* Strong presentation & communications skills – able to develop briefs and translate into communications

* Able to work independently, but also as part of a larger team

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Support the Senior Product Manager in the management of NPD to class leading standards through our Clients gate management process

* Transform our product roadmaps into detailed requirements and KPIs, ensuring that the portfolio stays on plan, contributing and delivering the service and product goals of the LRP & AP whilst creating buy-in for the vision both internally and with key external partners

* Develop customer insight by market research to drive innovation, liaising with stakeholders to understand business needs and work with these stakeholders to implement strategies

* Ensure mechanisms are in place to capture and apply external macroenvironment data to product portfolio on an ongoing basis

* Support with the management and prioritisation of a product backlog, ensuring a continued focus on delivering priorities

* Interpreting and understanding monthly NPD data, reporting back to the business on key trends.

* Support the competitive analysis of specific product areas; enabling knowledge of the competition's products, services and pricing activity, understanding strengths and weaknesses whilst ensuring this is translated coherently through to marketing strategy

* Identifying and filling product gaps and generating new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth

* Working with the Marketing team and third-party agencies to find impactful ways of using technical product knowledge to enhance marketing collateral, bringing to life both overt & hidden benefits of the portfolio

* Work closely with commercial units to gain an appreciation of commercial objectives, key milestones and focus areas.

* Provide required product-related content for back office ‘ERP’ system, for both new and existing ranges

* In addition to the above there is the requirement to carry out other general duties, within the capability of the post holder, as agreed with the Senior Product Manager & European Marketing Director.

Desirable:

* Previous experience ideally in a B2B environment

* 2:1 or above Business/Marketing/Engineering related degree
