With a busy head office, plus multiple live projects on sites throughout the North West, Yorkshire and the Midlands, we are looking to recruit a Design Coordinator. Located at the head office in Horwich, the role is based on 20-hours per week with some flexibility within the working pattern.

Job Title: Pre-Construction / Design Co-Ordinator
Division: Offsite
Responsible to: Divisional Director (off site) – Hybrid
Purpose & Context of Role:
To provide effective Information Management and design co-ordination in line with our systems and standards at both project and pre-construction level, this role would also act as Tekla Trimble Connect and Procore champion for the business and document controller for live project information.
Key Accountabilities
Design Coordination
Responsible for implementing MBS Preconstruction plan upon contract award, including updating
weekly.
To coordinate design information for the design team (internal and external stakeholders including Metsec, architects, draughtsmen, engineers, client etc.)
To attend, input and potentially chair client design team meetings on behalf of Mansell building solutions.
Facilitate resolving design issues with Metsec and the design team.
To ensure that MBS design changes / variations are being picked up and recorded by the commercial team.
To ensure the design team has accurate, updated, and timely information.
To collate and make available requested information for the design team.
To manage the design coordination documentation to site, pre contract and during.
Generate and follow up TQ's, RFI's as required from both internal and external stakeholders.
To upload and download from file sharing websites – In line with main contractor execution plans and British standards
Develop Tekla BIM viewer with external stakeholders to monitor production but to also later develop this with the commercial side of the business.
Work with Metsec and other suppliers to validate design elements at pre con stage.
Offer design solutions to clients at various appropriate points in the process.
Work with operational teams to ensure ongoing design issues on site are resolved
Document Control
To manage the effective handover of information to the site team to ensure an effective start on
site.
To manage and upload tender and construction information to MBS management system Procore for site installation works and panel fabrication works.
To manage incoming electronic and paper-based information ensuring compliance with protocols and standards.
To control project documentation and drawings across multiple simultaneous projects.
To quality assure incoming drawings against file naming standards and feedback any issues to the originators, providing guidance where required.
Generate RFI's as requested/Required by design team.
Job Description
Business Development
Assist with client engagement through meetings and where appropriate networking events.
To feed back and work with BD Team to ensure work winning pricing strategies are in place and any design issues are fed back.
Assist and mentor estimating team with pricing enquires providing value engineering ideas if appropriate.
Ensure Operational & Commercial input into tenders, particularly around programme and delivery Procurement & Production.
Ensure all production information is distributed to the production team.
To ensure the delivery teams have all relevant design information.
To attend project pre-start meetings and ensure all key design information is communicate to all team members.
To liaise with Divisional Director to ensure materials are procured in line with the fabrication and installation programs.
Assist in schedule of materials and fabrication lists as required for procurement.

Experience in Document Control/Information Management in construction industry.
Experience of training others in system/software use
Knowledge of digital applications
Ability to pick up new software and systems quickly
Ability to apply technical and design elements to on site operations
High attention to detail
Highly organized and efficient and managing workload
Strong communication and influencing skills
Auto Cad and BIM KnowledgeDesirable Skills and Experience
Experience in Document Control/Information Management for specialist contractors.
Light gauge steel framing background or current up to date understanding of light gauge framing and construction.
Contractual & commercial awareness
Experience of dealing with external clients on projects up to £5m value.

Educated to A Level / NVQ Level 3 standard
Full UK Driving License
Desirable Qualifications
Some form of best in class process training i.e., Lean, Six Sigma etc.
