A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Hardware Design Verifier for the Alstom Control Centre Systems product platforms following the standard Alstom procedures. Working closely with other team members and departments during the design life cycle to provide robust design solutions.

Role Overview

Sapphire Platform Systems

Modular Control Systems (MCS) including Enhanced (eMCS) and Infinity (MCSi)
Signal Passed at Danger Alert (SPADAlert) including Out of Sequence Train Operation (OSTO)
Train Describer (TD) including Information Train Describer (ITD) and Dual Train Describer (DTD)
Relay Interlocking Serial Interface (RISI)Delphin Platform Systems

Time Division Multiplexer (TDM)
Panel Interlocking Interface Unit (PIIU)
Panel Multiplexer (PMux)
Relay Interlocking Interface Unit (RIIU)

Key responsibilities

Supporting Project Engineer with programme planning for design and verification activities.
Support Project Engineer with customer related technical issues on assigned projects.
Coordinate with other design and verification engineers for the delivery of all system on assigned project.
Ability to interact with other experts and peers and to problem solve and identify technical conflicts.
Produce designs that comply with the company, technical and customer standards.
Investigate and respond to customer raised test logs and technical enquiries.
Actively seek to improve design and engineering processes.
Participate in periodic CRE design reviews.
Conduct stage gate reviews of deliverables into test.
Support the Technical Bid Manager in tendering activities.
IRSE licence log book kept up to date
Licensed IRSE Design Verifier License 1.1.160 supported and sponsored by Alstom.
Mentoring of Design Engineers and Assistant Engineers on assigned tasks.
Approve Authority to Work as member of the Competence Assessment Panel.

Essential Requirements

Educated to degree level in an engineering discipline
IRSE Design License 1.1.510 supported by suitable evidence.
IRSE Verifier Licence 1.1.160 supported by suitable evidence
Undertaken system design, project engineering, installation or testing activities.
Knowledge of railway operations or system engineering activities.
Application of RSSB, Network Rail and Industry recognised standards.
Working in a multitask environment.

Desirable attributes may include:

Membership of the IRSE (Institute of Railway Signalling Engineers)
Engineering Safety Management
IRSE Principle Design Licence 1.1.550
Signalling DesignVerifier experience
Working knowledge of signalling design process
Working knowledge of signalling systems (MCS, VHLC ElectroLogIXS, SMARTLOCK)
Working knowledge of software development process
