Salary : £37000/annum

The Senior Producer will work with the Artistic Director to develop and deliver Royal & Derngate's artistic vision both onstage and digitally, collaborating with the Arts, Creative Learning, Production and Technical Teams to manage personnel, prepare contracts, control budgets and line produce all Made in Northampton productions. The Senior Producer will become an integral part of our management team.

You will be an exceptional communicator with the ability to multitask and work under pressure. You must have a passion for producing theatre in both the subsidised and commercial sector, a track record of championing artists, an interest in community engagement and a strong commitment to inclusivity, relevance and environmental responsibilities

Job Purpose

Work with the Artistic Director, Arts, Production and Programming Teams and with external Creative Teams to develop, co-ordinate and deliver Royal & Derngate's artistic vision, through productions, projects, tours and events. The Senior Producer's responsibilities will include line producing, personnel management, preparation of detailed budgets, budget control, contract administration and operational support for all Made in Northampton productions.

Essential Skills

Experience

Significant experience in theatre production, with a confident understanding of a wide range of producing processes including production, touring and project management
Contractual preparation and negotiation
An understanding of both commercial and non-commercial producing
Experience of UK touring on the small, mid and large scale
Evidenced and practical relationships with venues, companies, agencies and organisations within subsidised and commercial sectorKnowledge

Knowledge of UK touring and/or regional theatre
Familiarity with funding structures and policies
An appreciation of the technical aspects of theatre production
A strong commitment to representation and inclusion.Skills/Abilities

Ability to work with experienced artists at all stages of work
A strong track record of being able to manage a varied workload and deliver work under pressure and an ability to work on one's own initiative
Proven ability to sustain positive internal and external relationships over a significant period of time
Excellent project management skills
Attention to detail, highly organised and good prioritising skills
IT literate (e.g. Word, Excel, Databases, Artifax, Tessitura)Desirable Skills

Experience

Working with UK Theatre, Musicians Union, Equity and other industry specific union agreements
Experience of working in a producing theatre
Experience of working in new writing
Working knowledge of commissions process and experience of negotiating contracts
An interest in the Creative Learning and Artist Development workKnowledge

Knowledge of international touring
Understanding of theatre management
