Conrad Consulting are delighted to be working closely with a pioneering Architectural practice in Norwich that require a driven Architectural Technician to join their growing Architectural Team. The practice are passionate about the environment and focus on designing high performance, sustainable buildings. They pay meticulous attention to detail, rigorous design and construction, keeping sustainability always at the forefront of their work.

Duties of this role include:

Develop knowledge of the patented company Build System and bespoke 3D modelling system
Demonstrate knowledge of residential building construction, legislation and codes of practice
Assist with the preparation of drawings and specifications to a high standard, compliant with appropriate current standards
Assist with the management and administration of projects
Develop, maintain and use IT skills including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit / BIM and specification systems
Liaise with and lead other project consultants in the furtherance of building projects
Plan and monitor the time and costs associated with projects as allocated and take action to ensure that the agreed rate of return is achieved
Assist on the delivery of quality assured, company products and services to meet agreed client requirements
Make visits to other offices and project sites when required
Identify new business opportunities, and bring these to the attention of the Team Leader
Employ Passivhaus principles and demonstrate willingness to learn and contribute to company knowledge base
Preparation of 3D structural frame modelling, 2D construction detailing, scheduling, shop and production drawings, material quantification

The Architectural Technician should also have:

Relevant Architectural qualification (ARB/RIBA or Technologist Degree, HNC, HND)
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit and Sketch Up
Experience in the collation and submission of planning and building regulation applications
Demonstrable experience working within the residential sector – particularly with Timber-Frame structures
Excellent time management skills with the ability to organise & prioritise workload effectively
An ability to contribute to the department by conveying knowledge of new trends techniques and technical innovation
Self-motivated and methodical approach to work with an attention to detail
Current valid driving licence and access to a vehicle

The successful Architectural Technician can expect to command a highly competitive salary likely to be in the region of £30k – £40k plus benefits package.
