UX/UI Designer – £50,000 London, flexible working

Digital 51 are working with an EdTech Startup business who have just received seed funding after launching their pilot web and mobile application within schools across the UK. You would be the fourth permanent person to join the business where you will work with the design foundations which have already been created to make the user journeys fun and engaging for students. The foundations for these applications have been built in an extraordinary way, students have been taken on in work placements to work with the founders to create a mobile and web application which is fit for what they need.

This business is truly purpose driven and created to support students’ wellbeing, they have schools lined up to roll this out to from the success of their pilot and are now looking for a UX/UI designer who will work with an external brand designer to use gamification techniques to engage with students and create a fun and enjoyable experience.

This business is set to scale, with a newly appointed Chief Technology Officer and two more current roles being hired within development. You will work with people who are exceptionally talented and passionate about the detail.

What does success in this role look like:

* Taking leadership over the design of this mobile and web application, developing UI components and style guides for company wide use.

* Facilitate the team to identify key assumptions and creative strategies to test them, creating low fidelity wireframes and prototypes that communicate clear and interactive experiences.

* Communicate with key stakeholders including developers to create conceptual ideas, prototypes and specifics of user-centred design process.

* Deliver design workshops with Students and Teachers.

What do you need to be successful in this role:

* Good understanding of data driven design strategies for mobile and web applications.

* Understanding of Gamification trends and methods, a solid grasp of user-centred design, planning and conducting user research and user testing.

* Technical skills to write in HTML/CSS.

* 3+ years’ experience working with UI and UX design.
