The Job:

You will be working in the upholstery department, upholstering fabrics, leathers & faux leathers onto furniture.

Key Responsibilities:

To prepare fabric and components for use in upholstery and/or soft furnishings.
To prepare to upholster items of furniture involving preparation of the frame for upholstery, application of suspensions and filling materials.
To competently fix upholstery to standard items of modern furniture and traditional furniture using a hand held staple gun, screw gun and other hand tools.
Application of mesh material into plastic back using air hammer and hands.
To competently fix upholstery to standard items of modern furniture and traditional furniture using a hand held staple gun, screw gun and other hand tools.
Maintaining a high level of quality and meeting production efficiency of at least 90%, in accordance with Company’s standards.
Carry out cleaning and basic maintenance of work areas and machinery.

Candidate Requirements

High degree of upholstery skills with a minimum of 1 -3 years’ experience.
The ability to produce a good quality product with excellent attention to detail.
Practical skills, manual dexterity, especially hand skills and co-ordination.
A positive mind-set with a ‘can do’ attitude.
The aptitude to assimilate techniques.
Manual handling, as some lifting is required.
Ability to use own initiative and to work quickly to meet production deadlines.
Measuring and cutting skills would also be beneficial
