This is an exciting role for a Motion Designer working within our client's multidisciplinary in-house design studio.
As part of your role you will produce engaging design and motion graphics in line with requirements across a wide variety of platforms. You will work under the supervision of a Creative Director within the design studio, producing exceptional work across the whole of the brand.
Working from varied creative and technical briefs you will be involved in projects from conception to delivery, spanning brainstorming, pitching, design, visualisations, storyboarding, animating for 2D (and 3D) motion graphics, editing, generating style frames, submitting final deliverables and more.
You are a passionate, experienced Motion Designer with a strong visual design background and a broad portfolio designing for a wide range of different situations.
You have experience in working on broad, open briefs, iterating rapidly and coming up with smart, beautiful solutions to problems.
You will be a design generalist with strong design aesthetics, an understanding of current design trends and be as confident designing in 2D as you will be producing beautiful, engaging motion graphics.
You love storytelling and problem solving and have a passion for distilling complex ideas into high-quality, polished pieces of design and motion graphics.
You are intrigued by AI and keen to explore ways in which it can inform and inspire your work.Responsibilities:
Work closely and collaborate with diverse teams (Communications, Research), as well as working closely with and providing support to other colleagues in the design team when required to deliver on large projects.
Deliver high-quality, diverse design and motion graphics work for a range of internal stakeholders, effectively managing projects' priorities to deliver to deadlines.
Support the Creative Director in providing an end-to-end in-house design and motion graphics solutions for the brand.
Working within an existing brand applying guidelines across a broad range of platforms.
Provide feedback and support to staff who are commissioning external design work, including checking briefs and providing sign off on content for quality and adherence to brand guidelines.
Working directly with external partners to help deliver exceptional motion graphics projects
Present complex information effectively
Working closely with researchers and communications team, turn complex concepts, research and diagrams from papers and other academic sources into understandable and interesting visual and motion graphic designs to help communicate AI research to a broader audience. Skills & Experience:
Design Qualification to Degree Standard or industry experience with a proven track record as a Motion Designer in a professional, broadcast, post production or agency environment.
Solid, practical understanding of design principles, typography, layout etc.
Professional level working with Cinema 4D.
Expert in the Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator)
A good understanding of video editing, specifically Premiere Pro.
In-depth knowledge of video codecs, file encoding and deliverable.
Exceptional communication skills with project managers, designers and developers.
Experience presenting designs to stakeholders.
Relish working at a fast pace, delivering often and iterating rapidly.
Highly motivated, able to work unsupervised, problem-solve proactively and effectively, multitask and prioritise workload.
Strong attention to detail and an ability to work within established deadlines.
Keen to learn new skills and constantly step out of your comfort zone.
Able to turn complicated concepts and ideas into understandable visual formsDesirable:
Basic understanding of Agile methodologies, such as Scrum / Kanban.
Experience with Houdini or other procedural design systems.
Experience designing for print and understanding of print processes.
Ability to shoot video.
Strong illustrational skills.
