Gallery Manager
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £25000 – £35000/annum OTE up to £60,000
The Burford Recruitment Company are working in partnership with a modern and contemporary Art Gallery located in the beautiful Cotswold town of Burford.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is interested in contributing passion and energy into kick starting a new gallery space within a well-established and highly regarded gallery group.
As Gallery Manager, you will utilise your strong sales skills with the ability to manage an exciting, new commercial gallery to an exceptional standard.
You should be highly motivated by commissionable sales. Working towards meeting and exceeding gallery sales targets, you will have the opportunity to build long-lasting client relations as you guide the sale from initiation to completion. You will be confident and comfortable selling both online and face-to-face to high-net-worth individuals.
You will be given creative responsibility for the presentation of the gallery; curating, hanging and preparing the space for exhibitions and private views. An exceptionally keen eye for detail is essential. Upholding relationships with Artist’s studios is also an important part of the role to ensure a smooth running of the business.

Essential skills:
* Apple Mac & Microsoft office proficient
* Ability to maintain a high standard of gallery presentation through curation and housekeeping
* Full driving licence for occasional stock movement and home approvals
* Flexible with hours of work, prepared to work weekends and occasional evenings for exhibitions
* Organisational skills required for stock control, logistics management and maintaining customer and artists databases
Desirable skills:
* Demonstrable success in selling contemporary art in a commercial setting
* Previous marketing and PR experience
* Experience of managing and inspiring a small team
* Design or other relevant design programmes
