Bilston (West Midlands)

The Company
With an impressive background designing and manufacturing for the commercial, educational, health, public and private sectors, my client has gone from strength to strength, even during the recent trying times for the world.

With operations here in the UK, the Middle East and India, they export almost 80% of their products, and are the go-to company for precision, quality, safety and aesthetics.

Due to this period of growth and an impressive forward order-book, they now wish to employ a suitably qualified and experienced CAD Technician, to help them continue their growth journey.

The Role
You'll be required to create technical drawings and plans, all of high-quality, based on discussions and designs from architects and other designers, or you'll be adapting an existing design.

These drawings are created in AutoCAD, with any 3D renders done in Fusion 360 (other 3D CAD packages will be considered, but good AutoCAD skills will be the main).

Based on these drawings you'll generate detailed instructions for production to work from.
Each design will need it's own set of BOMs and any other necessary information, and will be entered into the MRP system.

You'll also be supporting the Technical and Production teams to develop new products (including prototyping) so the ability to communicate effectively is a must.

The Person
This is a cracking opportunity to join a successful and growing business, so as such there are few things we really need in order for you to be considered:

Recognised qualifications or significant experience within design and design for manufacture
An understanding of engineering first principles
Excellent AutoCAD abilities (predominantly 2D)
Ability to create 3D drawings in a recognised system (ideally Fusion but SolidWorks, Inventor etc. will be considered)
Experience of creating drawings for products, floor plans, layouts, elevations
Experience of working with other technical teams and manufacturing departments
A team player and an ability to quicky build solid working relationships, and who can describe engineering matters in a simple and understandable manner
An ability to visualise projects and produce these accurately
Solid Microsoft Office skills and the ability to transfer and manipulate information (good Excel skills needed)
Proven problem-solving skills. Please be aware that you'll need to be within a reasonable commute of Bilston (West Midlands). We are not considering candidates that would need to relocate

The Rewards
In addition to working with an excellent employer and being part of the success of the business, you'll be rewarded with –

A good basic salary based on your experience
Good holiday allowance
Pension
Plus other benefits you'd expect from a progressive company
