Area Supervisor (Grounds Maintenance)

We are urgently recruiting for an experienced hands on Area Supervisor for our client, ideally you will be based within the Watford, Hemel Enfield and surrounding areas, this position is a full time permanent direct role and will be working for a very well and established national Grounds Maintenance organisation who are growing at an exponential rate.
Must have
Operational / Supervisory Management experience
Grounds Maintenance / Landscaping background is essential
Hands on approach, leading by example, a motivator
Good communication skills
Managed a large grounds maintenance team or group of contractors
You must be across the following key areas and be able to demonstrate –
HSEQ Management
Financial Management
Compliance
Resource Management
Systems and IT
New Business Development
The job
Day to day responsibility to ensure planned and reactive maintenance work is carried out to high standards including Winter Services programmes
Direct reports consisting of Team leaders and front line staff throughout the region will be managed by you
Ensuring adequate staffing levels are met in your team to deliver the service to clients
Recruitment of your managed area & additional seasonal staff
Meeting within budgets and achieving financial objectives set by the company
Ensure that all Commercial properties / clients requirements are met to the highest standards at all times
Ensure top levels of customer service is delivered within your region/area
Training, inductions & coaching of new and existing employees
Man management of your teams to bring about the best performances from them
Dealing with administration and paperwork thoroughly and accurately
Liaise with Head Office regularly to meet company and client requirements
Implement new processes and procedures set by Head Office
Be able to deal with customer complaints effectively and professionally and resolve any issues smoothly
Refer or win new contract or negotiations for new potential commercial opportunities within your area or for the group new, seeing a potential opportunity to grow the business

£27-30k, depending on experience
