Apprentice Engineer Specification

We are looking for an Apprentice Engineer to join our Abernethy site. You will be responsible for assisting the Engineering team with routine planned maintenance, equipment breakdowns and servicing, whilst attending college to gain your L6 Modern Apprenticeship in Engineering. We are currently at an exciting time for the business, with new automation recently installed as part of our continuous improvement plans.

Contract Type: Full Time/ Permanent

Salary: £20,000.00 per annum, potential to increase following pay review in August 2023.

Working hours: Monday-Friday 08:00-16:30

Key Responsibilities;

* Attend the Fife College Rosyth Campus 3 days a week, informing the Engineering Manager of any changes to schedule. The apprenticeship framework will help you attain a Modern Apprenticeship Level 6 in Engineering. When not at college you will develop your practical skills through on-the-job tasks & mentoring.

* To assist engineering team with routine planned maintenance checks on all site machinery and equipment.

* Aid with any equipment breakdowns and servicing, ensuring they are done as efficiently as possible to minimise operational impact.

* Adhere to site health and safety principles at all times, reporting any concerns to the Engineering Manager.

* Assist with the installation and development of new projects and equipment.

* Help with organisation of stores, ensuring sufficient stocks of parts at all times, and submitting any orders to the Engineering Manager.

* Assisting with the recording of tasks on the daily shift reports.
