Agronomist – Fruit

Salary : £60000 – £70000/annum
Our Client is a key player within the Fresh Produce sector, supplying Fruit products to major retailers and well versed in growing & supplying a strong portfolio of Fruit crops. We offer a new opportunity within their growing division, as Senior Regional Agronomist to take responsibility for an allocated region and grower base.
The successful Senior Regional Agronomist will be a highly versatile, practical individual who understands the dynamics of growing produce and the challenges faced by growers in the UK. The position will hold responsibility for a large grower base in the South East, working from home and managing a yearly program of grower management and support to ensure production and market demands are achieved. Visting farms regularly prior to the commencement of each season to report on pest & disease, organise & take samples for soil, plant, leaf and include Plant Health testing, plan integrated pest management strategies, and provide basic crop husbandry and hygiene recommendations.
We require an individual who is an experienced Agronomist within the Fruit sector, holding BASIS & FACTS qualifications, confident to work with a large portfolio of growers and offer support with crop development & promotion, crop benchmarking and agricultural practices.
A full driving licence is essential for this position due to the travel required across the South East.
