An exciting role has arisen for an Agricultural Contract Manager to join British Sugar. Reporting to the Agriculture Business Manager, you will manage and influence segmented suppliers, customers and industry partners within a defined area to deliver the objectives of British Sugar’s Agricultural Department.

The Agricultural Contract Manager is a vital role within our business and is required to influence suppliers, customers and industry partners in order to secure a sustainable long-term beet supply whilst interpreting grower insight and market intelligence to optimise business opportunities.

Key Accountabilities include:

Delivering business objectives by utilising grower insight, grower supply base segmentation and Grower Relationship Management

Using grower insight and segmentation to secure desired crop volume by targeting and influencing industry partners within a defined area

Identifying and developing opportunities to deliver against commercial objectives with segmented suppliers and customers and create long term sustainable beet supply

Developing strong commercial relationships by utilising market intelligence and strategic departmental engagement plans

Responsible for specific Yield Improvement Programme (YIP) objectives, as detailed by activity leads

Provide safety leadership and demonstrate the highest personal health and safety standards at all times and work effectively with other team members to carry out the tasks safely and effectively

Supporting campaign operations to ensure the efficient delivery of raw material to the factory

Crop estimating within a defined grower base
Selling LimeX to agreed targets, developing new LimeX opportunities, and managing customer service

Supporting Anaerobic Digestion pulp swaps
Promoting and supporting the Beet Delivery Service
Supporting the British Sugar self-grow initiative

Experience & Skills

Diploma/HNC level qualification or equivalent, preferably with working experience in the agriculture business sector

IT skills Microsoft Office competent

Experience of delivering high volume of sales and customer service to tight deadlines.

Good Communication skills, written and verbal

Full clean driving licence
