Admin Officer

Job Type : Temporary, Full Time

Salary : £15.44/hour

We are proud to be working in partnership with the Environment Agency in their search for an Admin officer to join the Flood Resilience Team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking for flexible part time work.

You will work on a part time basis and will be responsible for delivering a project to create Data Collection Plans for flood incidents.

It is essential that you have experience using ArcGIS and knowledge of Flood Incident Management to support us in the creation of Data Collection Plans for areas at fluvial flood risk.

The Data Collection Plans will have pre-identified locations for data collection to be used by Environment Agency duty officers during flood incidents to undertake site visits to collect data and observations of flooding.

The successful candidate will be asked to:
o Create data collection maps in ArcGIS which will include viewpoints for which data collection will be carried out, suggested driving and walking routes and car parking locations. We will provide the location and detail of the viewpoints, and contingent worker will create maps from that information. The flood risk map will be used to plan the walking and driving routes to avoid roads that may flood. They will create shapefiles in ArcGIS so that aspects of the map can be editable in future by the EA.
o The data collection map will then be tested on the ground by Environment Agency officers and they will then provide feedback to the contingent worker on any improvements required to the maps.
o Following this, the contingent worker will create a full Data Collection Manual for each area which will provide more detail on each view point on the map, what exactly we want duty officers to observe at those locations, and location references including What 3 Words. The manuals will also include additional maps such as flood risk maps. Templates will be provided to the contingent worker, including template Data Collection maps in ArcGIS and the template Data Collection manual in Microsoft Word. GIS data will also be provided by the Environment Agency.
o The data collection manual will be tested by Environment Agency officers and they will then provide feedback to the contingent worker. After any improvements to the manual are completed, the manual should be sent for sign off by selected EA staff.
