Accounts Administrator ** Ryton-on-Dunsmore ** £12/ hr **
** The succesful candidate will be working from home 3 days/week out of 5 **
Pertemps Cpventry is curently looking for an Accounts Administrator to provide a professional, efficient and comprehensive financial transaction processing service!
Accountabilities
1. Provide a customer focussed first line response to phone and email enquiries from suppliers, and liaise with colleagues to aid timely resolution of issues which arise.
2. Process supplier invoices and credit notes, matching to receipted purchase orders. Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve receipting issues, queries and discrepancies. Facilitate prompt and accurate payment in accordance with departmental budgets, corporate financial policies, processes and regulatory requirements.
3. Prepare monthly invoice schedules for the associates payroll, capturing associate invoice data throughout the month in line with the requirements of IR35 as stated on the purchase order. Resolve general associate payroll queries where appropriate with escalation to the financial transactions manager as required. Post national insurance and tax deductions as instructed.
4. Process expenses claims, ensuring they have been properly authorised by the relevant budget holder. Perform sample checks to ensure that claims comply with the College travel and subsistance policy.
5.Liaise with current vendors to collate, maintain and ensure that accurate, up-to-date, auditable records are maintained for all suppliers.
6. Contact customers to take card payments based on invoicing information and data supplied through the college general booking system. Maintain records of payments received.
7. Prepare and circulate as appropriate, accurate monthly customer statements and debtor reports. Chase outstanding debt regularly to ensure that cash owed to the College is collected within agreed timescales.
8. Prepare monthly accruals and journals to ensure that invoiced costs are captured in the appropriate accounting period.

* Efficient accounting systems and processes supporting accurate and accessible records.
* Provision of efficient and effective accounts payable / receivable service.
Essential criteria – training and qualifications
* Level 3 qualification (e.g. A-levels, Associate Accounting Technicians (AAT), NVQ level 3 or similar) or extensive equivalent level experience in a related area.
* GCSE Passes in English Language and Mathematics or equivalent qualifications.
* Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development in accountancy.
Essential criteria – experience
* Previous finance / financial transactions work experience
* Experience in using accounting systems such as SAP for financial processes and procedures.
Essential criteria – skills and knowledge
* Proficient in MS Office applications.
* Proficient in SAP or equivalent financial accounting system.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with customer-focused attitude and telephone manner.
* Ability to explain financial information clearly and succinctly to non-finance employees.
* Excellent standard of planning and organisational ability.
* Ability to prioritise work to ensure deadlines are met.
* Ability to work in a pressurised environment, remaining calm while dealing with a range of tasks simultaneously.
* Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
* Thorough knowledge and understanding of financial policies, processes and procedures.
* Demonstrable organisational ability and attention to detail.
Desirable criteria
* Knowledge of Data Protection and Freedom of Information Legislation.
* Knowledge of UK policing environment and Police Services geography.
Other information
* Vetting level: NPPV2
* Will require occasional travel to all College of Policing sites and to those of Policing-related organisations in England and Wales
* Must apply and promote the College of Policing Code of Ethics and Integrity principles!
