Job Type : Permanent, Full Time

Salary : £30000 – £40000/annum

£30,000-£40,000 per year

Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm

Hybrid after initial period in the office

Netwirking Recruitment are working with a national client based in the IT sector who are looking for a 3rd Line Support Engineer to join their growing group of businesses.

You will provide 3rd line support to external and internal customers seeking technical assistance via phone, email or in person. You will use your advanced technical knowledge to support IT initiatives including installing, maintaining, testing and repairing various systems and networks. You'll also support and mentor engineers at 1st and 2nd line.

As a 3rd Line Support Engineer you will:

* Provide quality IT infrastructure support to clients both directly in person or remotely

* Provide 3rd line support to the Service Desk team

* Serve as the first point of contact for both customers seeking Escalation assistance and Internal Escalation via phone, e-mail, Teams or in person.

* Configure and install servers, software and networks

* Assist with the maintenance & creation of required technical documentation

* Have involvement in technical pre-sales activities and liaising with the presale’s consultants

* Assist Project Managers with other duties as required

Skills and Experience:

* Configuring and maintaining MS Windows 2012, 2016 and 2019 Server +

* Strong Understanding of Identity Management systems including Active-Directory, Azure Ad

* Managing virtualised environments (VMware and Hyper-V)

* Citrix and MS RDS delivering application and desktop virtualisation

* MS Exchange 2013 through to 2019 including backup and recovery maintenance

* MS Office 365

* Exposure to infrastructure consultancy/project delivery

* Ability to understand and maintain the network roles (DHCP, DNS)

* Knowledge of protocols TCP/IP and SMTP and how to diagnose related problems

* Knowledge of networking topologies including switching, VLAN’s, routing and remote access

* Managing malware protection systems (i.e. McAfee EM, Windows Defender and MessageLabs etc.)

* Firewalls and DMZ/perimeter security solutions

* Operating and configuring backup solutions (i.e. Veeam / Backup Exec/ Skykick)

* Configure RAID based systems including disk arrays and SANs

About you:

* Experience working at 3rd line level or advanced 2nd Line level with a background in supporting a team.

* A logical and thorough approach to resolving incidents and requests

* Exceptional customer service skills

* Experience in mentoring more junior members within the service desk
