1st / 2nd Line Support Engineer – Gloucestershire

SDL Solutions Limited is currently recruiting for an 1st / 2nd Line Support Engineer to work in a permanent/full time position based in Gloucestershire.
The team is responsible for supporting and developing the companies systems. The systems used are Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012 based with a mixture of Windows 10 workstations running Microsoft Office 2016..
The particular responsibilities for the role include:
• providing first and second line user support to staff via a helpdesk
• general day-to-day network maintenance
• undertaking project activities where required
• VOIP phone systems
• evaluating developments in desktop hardware and desktop imaging
• reviewing and implementing hot-fixes
• planning and implementing the roll out of new hardware and software
• supporting, implementing and maintaining information security procedures and activities in accordance with our information security policy
The ideal candidate will have strong and effective communication skills with a range of different people and experience. It is essential to have a clear grasp of current IT developments and their importance in a business environment as well as the ability to represent the firm to its clients, as some projects will be client facing.
Candidates should have previous experience within an IT background, ideally degree level education (or equivalent) and ideally MCSE or similar certification.
